Irish Fleet becomes second National District of SB3 Association
Tuesday, November 21st, 2006
In a communication from the World Council President, Dan Geoghegan, to Tim Bourke, the Chairman of the SB3 Ireland Committee, the Irish fleet has been granted provisional approval of District Association status. Only the UK so far has National District status, so this is a great step forward towards getting International recognition with ISAF.
Dear Tim,
I have contacted the current members of the world council via both email and telephone and discussed the formation of SB3 Ireland as a District Association.
Subsequently we are granting provisional approval of SB3 Ireland as a District Association of the Laser SB3 Class Association until we are all able to meet in an official quorum to ratify the approval decision as deemed under the constitution of the Laser SB3 Class Association. At this meeting it is hoped that you will be able to join as the new SB3 Ireland Chairman with a vote on the World Council
It is now expected that SB3 Ireland will conduct its own administration and affairs as per the constitution of the Laser SB3 Class Association and pursue ISA recognition.
At this point I would like to congratulate your new committee and yourself for the outstanding effort undertaken to establish the SB3 class in Ireland.
On behalf of the world council I would like to welcome all Laser SB3 sailors to the class.
Regards
Daniel G
